Eighty Eight Miles
Leading a new generation of female fronted bands, Eighty Eight Miles are a colourful, infectious Indie Pop/Rock collective from the Midlands, UK. With their name originating from the hit movie trilogy ‘Back To The Future’, the foundation of their music is built upon a wide variety of inspirations such as Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys, Blossoms, Declan McKenna and The Mamas and The Papas.
The 2024 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Contest long-listers have had notable radio recognition from the likes of Radio X Host John Kennedy, with their last two singles debuting on the X-Posure show as ‘X-Posure Hot Ones’. They have also had significant support from BBC Introducing, being played on BBC Radio’s Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Lincolnshire and West Midlands. The band have also had social media recognition from artists such as Blossoms, Red Rum Club and even Fleetwood Mac’s own Lindsey Buckingham.
Eighty Eight Miles continue to grow, performing at major UK festivals such as Isle of Wight Festival, The Great Escape, Truck Festival (for the 3rd year running), YNOT Festival, 2000 Trees and more. They have enjoyed support slots with bands such as Red Rum Club, The K’s, overpass and DAYTIME TV as well as reaching the semi finals of the Isle of Wight Festival: New Blood Competition where they were picked out of over 5,000 applicants. Eighty Eight Miles were also part of the 90 artists long-listed for the Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent Contest out of over 7,500 applicants.
